No I am not dead, I just haven't written in a long time and didn't know what to say if I would have.

Sometimes I wonder if anyone takes me seriously... my family, friends, coworkers... I feel like no one does. I don't have an visible talents to contribute to anyone, no profound knowledge that would inspire anyone. I know so many people who craft, sew, write, paint, sing, play piano... just to list a few. I go to work do what I am told and come home. My house is often messy, no crafty things on the walls. I know that I have gained weight and I want to get rid of it asap. How do I change this funk that I am in?

I love Steven, he does his best to help me out and encourage me. I am starting yoga next week and I bought a few things I want to use in a craft, and I have made dinner ( no eating out or eating just fries and chicken fingers) almost every night for the past month or so. I am going to the temple this weekend. I want out of this funk!!!

PS. This is not to get sympathy or people feeling sorry for me... I just need to get out of this funk.

Thank you for listening to me vent and share some of my secrets.

  1. Hey Melissa it's good to see you back in the blogging world. Funks really stink. Not everyone is crafty etc. Yoga sounds like fun.

  2. SO I totally just wrote a long post, BUT my computer went to an error page :( BOO!

In summary of what I said - I went through a similar phase. I found running and it literally brought me totally out of it FINALLY. It's hard when your married and you're juggling so many things - husband, wife responsibilities, work, children, church callings, etc. BUT it is really important to find things that make you, YOU! And that is what running has done for me. I wasn't big on it in high school, but I have found something great about it now. It's challenging - i'm training for my first 1/2 marathon in three weeks and I'm excited about that. Running pushes me along with that it keeps me fit and it allowed me to lose all of the baby weight from Jessica FINALLY! So ya, go to yoga! That might be your thing and I hope that it is.

I'm not crafty either - I go into houses around here in Utah and see a lot of them decked out, but that's just not me. Your house should be catered to your taste :) That's what is important!

That's great that you've been cooking so much though - i've been so bad lately. We go out probably 2x a week . . . we really need to cut that out. Mainly cuz well it's healthier to eat from home and well it's CHEAPER! :)

Enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend and if you ever want to talk to someone who has been in your situation, just let me know! I would love to be there for you.

haha I guess not much of a summary, eh!?

  3. Totally know what you are feeling. Well, you read my blog recently, you know that I had to find something that I loved and I hope yoga is awesome for you. I've always wanted to get into it too. We should do a crafty thing the next time I come in to town! I'd love to teach ya a couple of simple things. Then you can custom make it and love it and say "Yup,I made that all on my own".. when people walk in your door and say how FABULOUS it looks. :)

  4. Aww, I feel like no one takes me seriously either! I thought I was the only one who felt like that! And I think it's great that you're trying yoga and making supper more! I feel kinda like I'm stuck too. But for me it's because of debt, that's why I'm stuck. I don't feel like I have anything to contribute either. Hmm, if you're trying to find something that's you, then I'll have to do the same for me! I love you! Muah!
